Inventor of Sew-in Weave, 1951
All Hail Miss Christina Jenkins, born in 1920 Lousiana, graduated with a degree in science from Leland College and made contributions throughout her life that touches our lives to this day.
After school, Christina spent part of her career in wig factory, discovering new ways to create a more secure-fitting wig/hair piece. She eventually blossomed her own method of sewing commercial hair with a person’s natural hair to add length and body. Miss Christina filed a patent for her “HairWeev” technique, which was granted in 1952. Jenkins owned and operated her Christina’s HairWeeve Penthouse Salon in Cleveland until 1993. She also taught her hair weaving techniques at hair shows across Europe and was sought after globally to educate others on her patented methods.

Thank you, Miss Christina.
